Dr. MB Nagaveni superannuated as Dean, Life Sciences, Maharani LakshmiAmmanni College for Women on 2008 after serving the institution as HOD,Department of  Zoology, Biotechnology and Biochemistry for over 30 years.She is currently the Director of  the institution of Maharani LakshmiAmmanni College Trust.

As Head of the department and Dean, Dr. MB Nagaveni held variouspositions in the Academic Council and was an active research member. She was anactive member of the Task force which was constituted to plan and implement forthe BT-Finishing school (now BISEP). 
Her dream and vision to empower women and provide quality education atthe Pre-University and the Degree levels and to help the academic achievers topursue Post Graduation and Research has come true with the establishment of thePost Graduate and Research Centers.

Milestones achieved byDr. MB Nagaveni :
· Additional charge of heading the newly introduced course-biotechnologyin the year 2002
· Instrumental in introducing M.Sc. biotechnology course during 2004.
· Co-ordinator for post graduate studies in Biochemistry andBiotechnology.
· Introduction of add-on courses (diploma, certificateand advanced diploma courses in Bioinformatics and Clinical Biochemistry,add-on course on clinical data management, Medical lab technician and MolecularTechniques) with her leadership.
· Co-ordinator of BT finishingschool (which is one among the twelve) in Karnataka selected by Govt.of Karnataka. 
· Co-ordinator of Star College/Status Program,  funded by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry ofScience and Technology, Govt. of India.  This unique program providesopportunity for undergraduate students and teachers alike to acquaintthemselves with latest technologies through hands-on training and otherinnovative practices.
· Co-ordinator of Bioinformatics InfrastructureFacility at MLACW, which is funded by Department of Biotechnology, Ministryof Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
· Co-ordinator of DST-FIST programme funded by Dept. ofScience & Technology, Govt. of India. This scheme is  towards “Fundfor Improvement of S&T Infrastructure (FIST)" of the Department ofScience & Technology (DST), Government of India. The Scheme is intended toprovide basic infrastructure and enabling facilities for promoting R&Dactivities in new and emerging areas and attracting fresh talents inuniversities & other educational institutions.
