IQAC
The IQAC of Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College was formed on 26th February 2005 with the objective of creating quality consciousness in the institution and providing an environment for its sustenance.
QUALITY POLICY
“The institution is committed to meeting the needs of all its stakeholders by providing support and facilities of the highest standards in the teaching-learning process. The institution intends to provide quality education and training through the continuous improvement of its standards and performance”.
Objective
The primary aim of IQAC is
- To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
Composition of the IQAC
IQAC may be constituted in every institution under the Chairmanship of the Head of the institution with heads of important academic and administrative units and a few teachers and a few distinguished educationists and representatives of local management and stakeholders.
The composition of the IQAC may be as follows:
1. Chairperson: Head of the Institution
2. A few senior administrative officers
3. Three to eight teachers
4. One member from the Management
5. One/two nominees from local society, Students and Alumni
6. One/two nominees from Employers /Industrialists/stakeholders
7. One of the senior teachers as the coordinator/Director of the IQAC
FUNCTIONS
Some of the functions expected of IQAC are
a) Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
b) Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
c) Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
d) Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education;
e) Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
f) Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
g) Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;
h) Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;
i) Development of Quality Culture in the institution;
j) Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
Role of IQAC:
- The prime responsibility of IQAC to initiate, plan and supervise various activities that are necessary to increase the quality of the education imparted in an institution or college.
- The role of IQAC is to maintain quality standards in teaching, learning and evaluation.
- All activities of the college are IQAC initiative.
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC based on the quality parameters.
- Preparing report for college ranking.
- Conducting Internal Audit and arranging for external audit.

OBJECTIVES
The Women Development Center at mLAC was established to play a pivotal role in the overall growth of Women of this institution and Society. Over the years, the centre had conducted various activities on Skill development (fabric painting, candle making, jewellery making, mushroom cultivation, composting, best of waste) (recycling of paper) and baking classes), Awareness programs (Walkathon, Poster displays, seminars), Self-defense techniques by Martial art experts, talks on Women health and hygiene by Medical practitioners, Prevention of sexual harassments by legal experts, Motivational talks by women achievers and so on.
The WDC with its dedicated faculty members and student volunteers aims to work towards the following objectives:

Organize programs that would help towards positive physical and mental health.
-
Be a facilitator for the financial growth of women from finally challenged socio-economic background, by conducting skill training programs
-
Collaborate with Women organizations and NGOs to help women overcome Socioeconomic barriers and transform them to be part of mainstream societies.

Conduct various activities such as Debates, Discussions, Seminars, Workshops, walkathon, and theatrical performances to create awareness on different aspects such as health, women's rights, gender equality, etc.

Promote every girl child of the institute and the society to learn self-defence techniques to defend herself from any sort of physical abuse and harassment.

Organize camps for health care checkup and make medical services easily accessible related to women health issues
-
Create awareness on gender sensitization to bring change in one’s personal attitude and humanity at large.
-
Educate every girl child on legal rights pertaining to health, discrimination, violence, property, domestic, dowry, and education.
ACTIVITIES:
Women Development Centre (WDC), mLAC which has been proactive since the year 2005, works towards the empowerment of young women in various areas. It has provided a platform for students to excel through self-confidence and self-discovery leading to professional and personal development. The various programs organized under WDC in the interest of the students are centred on skill development, awareness drive, motivational talks, and women empowerment. Students' active participation in WDC while conducting these programs have enabled them to hone their organizational and leadership skills.
WDC in the recent past has conducted various activities
SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS:
Fabric painting (various techniques), candle making, jewellery, baking classes, composting, mushroom cultivation, best out of waste (using recycled paper)
AWARENESS PROGRAMS:

A street play about solid waste management

Talks on women health and hygiene by gynaecologists

Free dental check-up camp to bring awareness about oral hygiene

Yoga sessions for general health and to manage menstrual cramps

Talks by psychiatrists & counsellors on women mental health &well being,

Awareness of consumers rights and other fundamental rights

Awareness of Women rights- Education, Employment, violence, and property
SELF DEFENCE TECHNIQUES: Demonstration of different martial arts form and self-defence tricks by Martial art experts for students and staff members of mLAC
MOTIVATIONAL TALKS: Women achievers from various fields deliver inspirational talks. This program is mainly organized to provide the right impetus for students to identify the opportunities, to integrate that with hard work and reach their goals.

Entrepreneurship Development Centre

INNOVIA
The Entrepreneurship Cell was established on 30th September 2014 to promote entrepreneurship among students of Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women. Students from all streams: Arts, Commerce and Science are members of the Entrepreneurship Cell. The E-Cell aims to reach out to all students from various streams to promote an entrepreneurial outlook by engaging them in various activities and driving entrepreneurship as a catalyst for job-creation and economic growth in India.
The E-Cell is managed by a team of faculty members from various streams and officially selected students as office bearers from all the departments in the college. The Entrepreneurship Cell of Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women has signed an MOU with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). The E-Cell in collaboration with NEN is conducting Entrepreneurship Educators Program.
The E-Cell Conducts the E-Week every year in the month of February. During E-Week various Guest Lectures, Workshops and competitions are organised for the E-Cell members to enhance their entrepreneurial traits. Hence the learning outcome will be to build entrepreneurial skills among the students and to encourage them to take up entrepreneurship as a career.
