MLACW (now mLAC) is an institution of excellence located strategically in the vicinity of national institutes of repute, such as Indian Institute of Science, Institute of Wood Science & Technology, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Raman Research Institute and Central Power Research Institute.
The B.Sc. CBZ course offered at mLAC Autonomous is designed to emphasize the fundamentals of the basic sciences- Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. It aims at providing a solid foundation for the students who would like to pursue higher education or a career in biological or chemical sciences. The curriculum is devised to inculcate research culture and environmental awareness amongst the students.
The duration of the course is 3 years which consists of 6 semesters set in the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) scheme. It comprises both theory and practical components in each of the subjects.
The course enables a student to understand the science of matter, its composition, structure, properties, and the changes it undergoes during any chemical reaction. It also makes them study the different processes occurring in a living organism and appreciate the role of living organisms in maintaining the balance in nature.
The course delivery methods include classroom lectures, discussions, presentations, flipped classrooms, workshops, and industry visits. Students are also involved in in-house projects. gaining exposure in the research field.
