Founder & Director-cum-Coordinator

Recognizing the genuine need to further the cause of women's education, Dr. K.N.V. Sastri (1895–1984), a noted scholar, author and professor in the area of Indian History and Politics, envisioned an exclusive women's degree college in the northern part of Bangalore. The outcome of his dream was the establishment of Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women affiliated to Bangalore University, with Dr. M.N. Mahadevan as the Founder President and Shri T.S. Rajam as the Vice President, beginning with a strength of just 12 girls. The vision of the mLAC Trust and the relentless efforts of the Principals and staff over the past four decades has steered the institution firmly towards the consolidation of the founder's dream. Today, the institution runs PUC, UG & PG programs and is ranked amongst the top colleges in Bangalore.

"It has been a pleasure for me and my board to be associated with mLAC. We play a constructive role in building an institution that in turn can be the torchbearer for the future generations — an institution that can hold out hope and serve the needy through commitment and innovation. We are delighted that our ideas and guidance have always been received in most positive and proactive ways. I am sure with the new found identity as mLAC, our journey has a new impetus to reach even greater heights."

— Late Dr. Roddam Narasimha, Former Chairman

"A humble beginning 40 years ago, a journey through ups and down, yet a zeal to do the best and deliver the best: the outcome — Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women. Education as a key to change can become effective only if it is wedded to the technological advances. In this globalized era, students look for placements, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, ample opportunities are provided to this effect at mLAC."
