A Legacy of Institutional Excellence

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College was established on 26th February 2005. Since its inception, the primary objective of the cell has been to create a deep-rooted consciousness of quality within the institution and to provide a dynamic environment for its long-term sustenance.

As the central nodal agency of the college, every major academic and administrative activity is driven by IQAC initiatives.

Primary Objectives

The IQAC operates with a strategic focus on two fundamental aims:

  • Continuous Improvement: To develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to progressively improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • Cultivating Culture: To promote active measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through the internalization of a quality culture and the institutionalization of best practices.

Core Roles & Responsibilities

The prime responsibility of the IQAC is to initiate, plan, and supervise the various activities necessary to elevate the quality of education imparted at the college. Its core roles include:

  • Maintaining uncompromising quality standards in teaching, learning, and evaluation.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports for college ranking and accreditations.
  • Conducting rigorous Internal Audits and coordinating external audits.
  • Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC based on prescribed quality parameters.

Strategic Functions of the IQAC

To execute its mandate, the IQAC is expected to perform the following critical functions:

  • Developing Benchmarks: Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities.
  • Fostering Learning: Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation for participatory teaching and learning processes.
  • Gathering Feedback: Arranging for feedback responses from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Disseminating Information: Active dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Organizing Workshops: Organization of inter- and intra-institutional workshops and seminars on quality-related themes, alongside the promotion of quality circles.
  • Documenting Progress: Meticulous documentation of various programs and activities leading to quality improvement.
  • Coordinating Best Practices: Acting as the nodal agency of the institution for coordinating all quality-related activities, including the adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  • Maintaining Databases: Development and maintenance of an institutional database through an MIS for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing institutional quality.
