mLAC Ranger Unit (Bharat Scouts and Guides)
The Emblem of the Bharat Scouts and Guides is FLEUR-DE-LIS superimposed by the TREFOIL with the Ashok Chakra in the Centre of the Trefoil. The FLEUR-DE-LIS symbolizes the Scout Wing and TREFOIL symbolizes Guide Wing. Ashok Chakra symbolizes India and Horizontal band symbolizes World brother/sisterhood.
The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) has a deep blue flag with a yellow emblem featuring the Fleur-de-lis (Scouts), a trefoil (Guides), and the Ashoka Chakra (India) in the center, representing unity, duty, and the nation, with their motto being "Duty to God and Country, Help Other People, and Obey the Guide Law," emphasized by the universal Scout/Guide motto of "Be Prepared".
About Rangers
In the context of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in India, Rangers represent the senior wing for young women (girls) aged 15 to 25. They are part of a voluntary, non-political, educational movement that aims to empower young women, fostering leadership, self-reliance, and community service.
- Ranger Motto: The Ranger motto is "Service".
- Definition: Rangers are the senior branch of the Guide wing, designed for girls in high school or college.
- Principles: They adhere to three main principles: Duty to God (or one's spiritual beliefs), Duty to Others/Country, and Duty to Self.
- Activities: Rangers engage in community development projects, social work, hiking, trekking, camping, and disaster management.
- Age and Structure: The age group is 15–25 years, though they can continue as a "Service Ranger" up to 35 years of age. A unit of Rangers is called a "Ranger Team," which typically consists of 6 to 24 members.
- Uniform: Rangering is a uniformed activity.
- Progression: They progress through stages like Ranger Aspirant, Pravesh Ranger, Nipun Ranger, Rajya Puraskar Ranger, and the highest, the Rashtrapati Award.
