Introduced in 1998 as the Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) and later renamed the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the department prepares learners for dynamic careers in business. We equip students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to manage various facets of the corporate world.

The department strives to make a difference by focusing on individual learner needs. We emphasize holistic development, adopting a balanced approach to nurture the physical, mental, emotional, social, moral, and spiritual dimensions of our students' personalities. Through a varied range of productive activities, students are empowered to find avenues for growth, handle corporate pressure, and become outstanding professionals and worthy citizens.

Course Outcomes: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

I Year: Foundations of Management & Business

  • Semester I:
    • Management Process: Understand the evolution of management theories, planning concepts, organizational structures, team collaboration, and control systems, while imbibing ancient Indian management ethos.
    • Fundamentals of Accounting: Master the accounting process from journal entries to balance sheets, including subsidiary books, Bank Reconciliation Statements, IFRS, and HR/Environmental accounting.
    • Business Environment: Analyze forms of business, LPG (Liberalization, Privatization, Globalization) concepts, company formation, and the impact of government policies.
    • Soft Skills for Business: Develop cross-cultural communication, technology-aided presentation skills, interview preparedness, meeting etiquette, and business letter drafting.
  • Semester II:
    • Financial Accounting: Learn the preparation of branch accounts, fire insurance claims, hire/installment purchasing systems, royalties, and partnership conversions.
    • Organisational Behaviour: Comprehend personality determinants, self-perception, leadership styles, learning theories, group dynamics, and conflict resolution.
    • Quantitative Methods for Business: Apply interest/annuities, linear/quadratic equations, and statistical tools (mean, median, mode, dispersion, index numbers) to business scenarios.
    • Marketing Management: Explore the marketing mix, STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning), consumer behavior, and modern market research concepts.

II Year: Operations, HR, Finance & Law

  • Semester III:
    • Production & Operations Management: Recognize the relevance of plant location/layout, material handling, production planning, maintenance, and waste management.
    • Human Resource Management: Develop competencies in HR planning, recruitment, performance appraisal, wage administration, and employee counseling.
    • Financial Management: Analyze the time value of money, cost of capital, capital structure, working capital, and dividend provisions.
    • Corporate Accounting: Prepare company final accounts, consolidated balance sheets, and value goodwill/shares.
    • Company Formation & Administration: Understand the MoA, AoA, share capital, company meetings, and the roles of Directors and Company Secretaries.
    • Business Laws: Navigate the Contract Act, Sale of Goods Act, RTI, Competition Act, Consumer Protection Act, FEMA, and IT Act.
  • Semester IV:
    • Entrepreneurship Development: Understand the entrepreneurial journey, from creativity and business plan drafting to securing government clearances and funding.
    • Services Management: Analyze the 7 P's of services marketing across tourism, hospitality, insurance, education, and healthcare/ITES.
    • Cost Accounting: Prepare cost sheets and understand inventory control, labor remuneration, overhead apportionment, and specific costing methods (Job, Batch, Process).
    • Business Ethics & Corporate Governance: Imbibe personal values and understand ethical managerial practices, organizational culture, and global compliance protocols.
    • Banking Regulations & Operations: Explore commercial bank functions, the banker-customer relationship, negotiable instruments, and lending principles.
    • Project Management: Master project feasibility studies, planning, implementation, evaluation, and project financing.

III Year: Strategy, Analytics & Global Trade

  • Semester V:
    • Entrepreneurship Development (Advanced): Deepen knowledge in drafting comprehensive business plans and securing start-up funding from financial institutions.
    • Business Research Methods: Acquire skills in research formulation, questionnaire design, sampling methods, data tabulation, and report writing.
    • Investment Management: Comprehend security/technical analysis, equity valuation, portfolio management strategies, and mutual funds.
    • Management Accounting: Analyze accounting ratios, fund/cash flow statements, marginal costing (Break-Even Analysis), and budgetary control.
  • Semester VI:
    • International Trade & E-Business: Learn international trade theories, Balance of Payment (BOP), e-business models, e-commerce security, and digital payment systems.
    • Strategic Management: Formulate organizational vision/mission policies, draft SWOT analyses, and understand strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Income Tax: Navigate the legal framework of the Income Tax Act to determine residential status and compute income across salary, house property, business/profession, capital gains, and other sources (including deductions).
