Job Fair Report: mLAC Students 22/06/2024
Introduction:
The Mega Inclusive Job Fair On 22nd June 2024 for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), jointly organized by The Association of People with Disability, the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), and our venue partner, mLAc - Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women, was a pivotal event aimed at promoting diversity and expanding career opportunities for individuals with diverse abilities. Additionally, women without disabilities from Maharani College also participated, enhancing the event's inclusivity. The fair was well-attended by both students and recruiters from various companies seeking fresh talent.
 

Employer Engagement
Employers from different sectors enthusiastically participated, demonstrating their commitment to inclusive hiring practices. Companies such as Amazon,

Employers were impressed by the qualifications and unique perspectives of the candidates they met.

Attendance and Participation:
The fair attracted a diverse group of over 400 participants, including recent graduates, experienced professionals, and individuals re-entering the workforce.
•    38 companies
•    120 offers confirmed to APD students
•    A total of 134 mLAC students registered for the job fair from various disciplines and academic backgrounds. The students were enthusiastic about exploring career opportunities and interacting with potential employers.


 
 


Recruitment Statistics:
The job fair resulted in successful placements for a significant number of 30% mLAC students. Here are the key statistics regarding placements:

Feedback and Impact:
The feedback from both students and recruiters was overwhelmingly positive. Recruiters appreciated the enthusiasm, preparedness, and quality of candidates from mLAC College. Students expressed satisfaction with the range of job opportunities presented and the networking opportunities provided by the fair.

      

Conclusion:
The job fair conducted on 22nd June 2024 was a resounding success for mLAC College with collaboration BCIC & APD  and its students. It served as a platform for connecting talented students with leading companies, facilitating meaningful employment opportunities. The college looks forward to organizing more such events in the future to further enhance student placements and industry partnerships.

To build on this success, mLAC College may consider:
•    Increasing outreach to a wider range of companies and industries for future job fairs.
•    Providing additional career counselling and interview preparation workshops to enhance student readiness.
•    Incorporating feedback from recruiters and students to continually improve the format and effectiveness of future job fairs.
