Department of Zoology mLAC organised a field trip for final year B.Sc students to Dandeli wildlife sanctuary, which was approximately 465 km  from Bangalore, on 8th, 9th and 10 August,2022. The major objective was to familiarise the students with the ecology and Flora of the region. 65 students were accompanied by the HOD and seven teaching faculties and one non-teaching staff. The tour teams left on 7 August 2022 at 9:45 PM, sharp from the college campus and proceeded towards Dandeli.

First day after breakfast student had an awareness session by two resource persons on biodiversity conservation, where they showed rescued King Cobra (Naja naja) which was very aggressive since it was kept in a closed container unfed for two days. They also showed rescued Rat snake, Juvenile Rock Python and Ornamental snake. After the awareness session the team headed to lunch. Around 4:30 PM students were taken to Safari to Kali Tiger reserve. During Safari students were able to observe different wild animals and birds species. To name some of the animals and birds species observed , deer, bison, peacock, hornbill and many more. The students were passionately interested to learn through experience and captured various images of wild animals. Later, post-dinner students enjoyed the campfire.

On the second day students were taken to nature walk in Dandeli at 9:45 AM, where they had a very good time observing the live specimens, enquiring their unresolved queries about Mother Nature. Later, at 12 PM students were taken to water sports where the enjoyed a lot participating in kayaking, boating, zip line and many more. The team reached at 10 PM on 10th August 2022 at the college campus.

The overall result of the educational tour was to sensitize the students on importance of wildlife and their conservation.
