Department of Zoology, MES college arts commerce and science Malleshwaram, organised “E-quiz competition on world water day” for students, research scholars, faculties and for the public. Quiz was organized on the occasion of world water day. World Water Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the 22nd of March every year. Since its advent in 1993, this day has been observed to raise awareness about water-related issues and encourage people to take action to address global challenges. The theme of World Water Day for the year 2024 is ‘Leveraging Water for Peace,‘ collaborating to solve water-related issues, creates positive outcomes and builds resilience to shared challenges. Achieving it relies on far greater cooperation.
This event was co-ordinated by Department of zoology mLAC, our undergraduate and post graduate students participated eagerly in the quiz, they got information and awareness about fresh water, their resources, pollution and also about world water day which was need of the hour because water is an important natural resource every living organism on the earth is dependent on it. The main aim of the participation was to create awareness among the young minds in the present situation wherein Bangalore is facing water crisis in 2024.
Students after attaining the quiz filled feedback form where we could see positive feedback about the quiz especially about the question framed was so informative the 10 tips showcased after completing the quiz was very beneficial for all of us for water management in proper way.
World Water Day 2024 will not just be a day of reflection but a call to action. With a growing global population and increasing demand for water, the need for sustainable water management practices becomes ever more urgent.
