Bengaluru, April 12, 2026 — Students of the BSc program at mLAC actively participated in a cycling event aimed at creating awareness about establishing a public library space in Cubbon Park. The initiative, organized as part of the institution’s extension activities, highlighted the importance of accessible reading spaces in urban environments.
The cycling drive brought together enthusiastic participation from students who rode through key stretches of the city, drawing public attention to the proposed idea of setting up a library within Cubbon Park. Through this effort, the students emphasized the role of community-driven initiatives in promoting literacy and shared learning resources.
In addition to the awareness campaign, the students also contributed to academic service by assisting in the cataloguing process at the mLAC Library. Their involvement included organizing books, updating records, and supporting the systematic arrangement of library resources, thereby enhancing usability and access for fellow students.
This dual engagement—community outreach through the cycling event and institutional support through library cataloguing—reflects mLAC’s commitment to holistic education. The activity not only fostered social responsibility among students but also strengthened their practical understanding of library management and community engagement.
The event stands as a noteworthy example of how student-led initiatives can bridge academic learning with real-world impact.
