Zoology as a subject forms an amalgamation of both basic and applied sciences. Thorough knowledge about basic concepts of organization of animals provides lot of scope to understand the molecular basis of physiology and genetic predisposition which govern the existence of animals. Topics like systematics and biodiversity, ecology, evolution, animal physiology, animal behaviour, Parasitology and developmental biology provide great platform to elicit interest in students. Study of topics namely cell and molecular biology, bioinformatics, biophysics, immunology, molecular genetics and genetic engineering will help students to gain advanced knowledge in the areas of zoology. Thus the course is designed to gain strong knowledge in zoology with practical applications of theory leading to research not only in zoology but also in other inter-disciplinary subjects.
Eligibility
The eligibility conditions which the aspirants need to fulfill are as follows:
- B.Sc. in Life Science with Zoology as as a core subject.
- A minimum of 55% marks in B.Sc. from any recognized university or institution.
- Candidates who are currently appearing for the final year exam are also eligible to apply for M.Sc. in Zoology. In such a case, they have to clear it before the finalization of the admission process.
