A Zero-Tolerance Campus

At Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women (mLAC), the safety, dignity, and psychological well-being of our students, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff are of paramount importance. We are deeply committed to maintaining an academic and work environment completely free from sexual harassment, discrimination, and intimidation.

In strict compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) and the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the institution has constituted a dedicated Internal Compliance Committee (ICC). The ICC functions as a legally empowered, impartial, and highly confidential statutory body designed to educate the campus community, prevent incidents of harassment, and provide swift, just redressal for any grievances.

Our Mandate and Objectives

The ICC operates on three core pillars: Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal.

  • 🛡️ Prevention & Sensitization: We proactively conduct regular workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns for both students and staff to promote gender equity, mutual respect, and a clear understanding of what constitutes workplace harassment.
  • 🚫 Strict Prohibition: We enforce a non-negotiable, zero-tolerance policy against any form of unwelcome sexual behavior, whether physical, verbal, or non-verbal, across all campus facilities and college-sponsored events.
  • ⚖️ Fair & Timely Redressal: We provide a secure, formal mechanism for receiving complaints. The committee is mandated to conduct impartial, time-bound investigations while upholding the principles of natural justice and absolute confidentiality.
