A Legacy of Service and Preparedness

As a proud affiliate of the internationally recognized Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), the mLAC Ranger Unit represents the prestigious senior wing for young women. Operating as a voluntary, non-political, and highly disciplined educational movement, our unit is designed to foster absolute self-reliance, rigorous leadership, and an unwavering commitment to community service.

Proudly marching under the deep blue BSG flag—featuring the Trefoil, the Fleur-de-lis, and the Ashoka Chakra—our Rangers embody the spirit of national unity and universal sisterhood. Guided by the ultimate Scout/Guide mandate to "Be Prepared" and the specific Ranger motto of "Service," our students undergo transformative training that prepares them to confidently handle real-world crises, manage disasters, and uplift their communities.

The Path of a Ranger

Rangering is a strictly uniformed activity that requires deep commitment. Every member of our Ranger Team adheres to three foundational principles: Duty to God, Duty to Others, and Duty to Self.

To forge true leaders, our unit follows a rigorous, stage-by-stage progression system. Students enter as a Ranger Aspirant, and through grueling exams and practical camps, advance to become a Pravesh Ranger and a Nipun Ranger. The ultimate goal for our most dedicated students is to achieve the Rajya Puraskar (State Award) and the highest national honor, the Rashtrapati Award (President's Award).

Field Training and Activities

The mLAC Ranger Unit conducts intensive, year-round activities that test both the physical endurance and the civic dedication of our students:

  • 🏕️ Outdoor Survival & Expeditions: We take learning into the wilderness through rigorous District-Level Survival and Trekking Camps (including our flagship Davangere expedition), the immersive Nade Halliya Kade program, and advanced outdoor culinary challenges like the Cooking With/Without Fire Competitions.
  • 🤝 Civic Duty & Community Service: True to our motto, we actively give back to society through initiatives like our Annual Statue Cleaning Program, massive campus celebrations for Constitution Day and National Yoga Day, and continuous social work drives.
  • 🏅 Ceremonial & Skill Advancement: We honor the deep traditions of the Guides through our annual Investiture Ceremony, the proud celebration of Scarf Day, official Orientation Programs, and the conduction of the crucial Pravesh Exams for advancing ranks.
